EMS-GRIVORY is the manufacturer with the broadest range of polyamides worldwide employs more than 1000 people world wide. These high-performance polymers for use in injection-molding and extrusion processes are sold worldwide under the trade names Grivory®, Grilamid® and Grilon®. The largest development center and production site is located in Domat/Ems, Switzerland, with further production sites in Germany, China, Taiwan and the USA. Polyamides from EMS-GRIVORY are used in applications in the market segments automotive, industry, consumer goods, electro, healthcare, optics, packagings.

EMS-GRIVORY provides cost and weight savings through metal replacement and is world market leader with high-temperature and transparant polyamides. Products with high-quality surfaces, designs and colors are possible with intensive customer support throughout the whole development process and even during running serial production. Starting with the first feasibility studies and economic analyses, experienced development engineers accompany customers through prototype manufacturing and specific component testing as well as in mold optimization and process technology. Where necessary, products are adapted to meet special requirements. This means that customers are provided with a complete solution and can differentiate themselves in their markets with cost savings, weight reduction or new designs. Grivory is our ‘metal’ which has been market leader in the field of metal replacement for many years. Grivory GV and GVX offers cost savings, weight reduction, freedom of design, functional integration compared to expensive metals. Grivory HT offers enhanced performance at high temperatures and outperforms polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) and polyetheretherketone (PEEK) in terms of stiffness and strength at application temperatures up to 140°C.
Grilamid products are long-chain aliphatic polyamides offering very low water absorption and excellent dimensional stability, very good resistance to chemicals and weathering, excellent hydrolysis resistance, low density and easy processing.
Greenline products are based on renewable raw materials with bio-content from 54 upto 99%. The primary objective is to offer customers products based on renewable raw materials, having excellent properties and allowing a proven contribution towards reduction of environmental impact. Despite the use of renewable raw materials, GreenLine products are not biologically degradable polymers.The durability of Greenline products are comparable to that of crude-oil based polyamides.
Food Water Approved (FWA) polyamides are physiologically harmless and used in sensitive application areas with direct contact to drinking water and foodstuffs. Our FWA products satisfy the requirements of the most important standards and regulations in Europe and North America, such as WRAS, ACS, KTW, NSF and FDA.
Long Fibre Technology (LFT) polyamides are 10 mm granules reinforced with long glass or carbon fibers. Long fibres create a unique web-like fiber structure within the injection-moulded component, which significantly improves the thermal and mechanical properties compared to products reinforced with short fibers. LFT products are designed for for structural parts that require sperior strength/stiffness, high energy absorption, very little creep and long term temperature resistance.

EMS-GRIVORY’s material-testing team has modern, well-equipped testing laboratories located in Domat/Ems (Switzerland), Gross-Umstadt (Germany), Sumter (USA) and Suzhou (China). These laboratories are equipped with extruders, injection molding, and blow molding machines offering excellent support in the development of new applications and products. EMS is specialized in providing recommendations for materials, feasibility, and design through moldflow (MFA), finite element (FEA) analyses and prototypes 3D-printing. Our comprehensive material and part testing services cover mechanical, thermal, fire, electrical, rheological, permeation, burst pressure, creep, and compressive stress assessments. We delve into detailed analyses, examining materials and parts for media/environmental influences, chemical resistance, hydrolysis resistance, thermal properties (DSC, DTA, TGA), computer tomography (CT), UV/Xenon weathering, spectroscopy, chromatography, and microscopy. Moreover, we excel in testing the film barrier properties of oxygen, carbon dioxide, aroma, and odors in films. Our support extends to processing assistance during production, color matching, UV/Xenon weathering, and the continuous development of innovative test methods.
